Geopolitical situation heats up, international crude oil prices rise

International crude oil prices rose on April 2. Ukraine's attacks on Russian energy facilities and the Middle East conflict pushed Brent crude oil price above US$89/barrel for the first time since October last year.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for May delivery increased by US$1.44 (1.7%), reaching US$85.15/barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude for June delivery rose by US$1.50 (1.7%), settling at US$88.92/barrel. The highest price once hit $89.08 on April 2.
