British BP cooperates with ThyssenKrupp in developing green steel

BP plc, a British multinational oil and gas company, has decided to cooperate with Germany’s ThyssenKrupp Steel to target producing steel by decarbonizing way. Also, the cooperation involved developing long-term supply with low-carbon hydrogen and renewable power.
Thyssenkrupp produces 11 million tons of crude steel every year, and its target is to produce 400,000 tons of CO2-reduced steel by 2025 and make its steel production reach carbon neutrality by 2045.
ThyssenKrupp’s carbon emission accounts for 2.5% of total German emissions.
