AGC: Prices of US construction projects pushed up by rising material costs

According to the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) analysis, rising construction material prices have begun to push up the prices of construction projects in the US. The increase in material prices is more significant than the increase in project charges, and the huge increase in truck transportation service has led to an extreme rise in construction costs.
As a result, association officials urged the Biden administration to take more measures to solve the problem because these rising costs are weakening the supply chain of construction companies and the broader economy.
The association proposed additional tariff reductions, exemptions for key construction materials, and waiving hours of service rules. Thus, the shipper could solve the problem of the backlog of goods.
