Malaysia imposes temporary anti-dumping duties on cold rolled stainless steel in Indonesia and Vietnam

According to the preliminary ruling made by the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), the government has decided to impose provisional anti-dumping duties (AD) on coils, plates or any other form of cold rolled stainless steel. In Indonesia and Vietnam.

The temporary anti-dumping duty rate is between 7.73% and 34.82% and will take effect no more than 120 days from December 26, 2020.

The initial anti-dumping investigation was initiated on July 28, 2020 based on a complaint by Bahru Stainless Sdn Bhd. Bhd. Alleged that the import of the target commodities from Indonesia and Vietnam caused substantial damage to the domestic market in Malaysia, and the prices were lower than fair value.
