According to reports, Tangshan, China's largest steel-producing city, has imposed restrictions on sintering and blast furnaces from October 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021. The steel plants are divided into five levels and need to cut output by as much as 45%. .
However, market participants stated that the restrictions are not so strict in 2019-20.
The restricted proportion has dropped from 20-50% last year to 10-45%, and the affected output will be about 3.6 million tons less than in 2019, although the restriction period this year will be extended by 16 days compared with the previous year.
