Donald Trump's tariffs led to a decline in Mexico's steel exports to the United States from January to July
According to data from the US Department of Commerce, after Trump imposed tariffs, Mexico's steel and aluminum exports to the US market dropped by 29% and 20% respectively.

The tariffs on these two metals were 25% in March and 50% in June respectively. As a result, in the first seven months of this year, Mexico's steel exports dropped to 1.594 billion US dollars, and its aluminum exports fell to 403 million US dollars. Meanwhile, compared with the same period in 2024, the import value of steel and aluminum in the United States has also declined.
