China aims to achieve ultra-low emissions in steel production capacity by 2027
According to the report, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIIT) is promoting a large-scale, intelligent, and environmentally friendly transformation of key equipment in the steel industry. This initiative focuses on implementing low-emission technologies and enhancing energy efficiency.

The MIIT anticipates that steel production capacity will achieve low carbon emissions exceeding 80% by 2027. Additionally, 30% of steel production capacity is expected to meet energy efficiency benchmarks, and 80% of operational procedures will be digitized.

Some market participants indicated that the steel industry would concentrate on six key areas of transformation: iron ore screening, pollution and carbon reduction, digital transformation, upgrading process equipment, enhancing the industrial operating system, and improving industrial software.
