From January to August 2024, China's hot-rolled coil (HRC) production reached around 144.8 million tons, marking a year-on-year increase of 3.2%, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
Meanwhile, cold-rolled coil (CRC) production totaled roughly 31.1 million tons, up by 9.1% from the previous year.
In August, HRC production was around 18.1 million tons, reflecting a year-on-year decline of 3.7%. CRC production reached 3.8 million tons, down by 6.3% year-on-year.
However, both HRC and CRC production saw month-on-month increases of 1.6% and 6.5%, respectively.
